Leadership Transition in Planning, Design and Construction

Dear Campus Operations Team,

I’m writing to share an important update regarding leadership in Planning, Design and Construction (PDC). Amanda Barber, who has been serving as interim Executive Director, will leave her role March 5 to join Southwestern University in Georgetown as Associate Vice President of Facilities. Please join me in thanking Amanda for her dedication and service during the past year and a half. Her leadership has been invaluable, and we wish her all the best in this next chapter.

We will launch a formal search for new PDC leadership. While that occurs, I will lead the department and lean into the University Architect aspect of my position. During this time, I will rely on the leadership and expertise of our entire Campus Operations team to ensure a smooth transition and continue to keep our projects moving forward. Specifically, in PDC Doug Gilpin and Kate Haenchen Jimenez will remain in their current director roles, Robert Hengst and Andrijana Vukovich will serve as interim co-directors of Project Management, and Mitch Stepp will remain in his interim role to support PDC. I have asked Shannon Hanney to continue serving as deputy director — supporting PDC and assisting me with efforts across Campus Operations.

Trina Bickford and the Contracts team will now report to Valerie Hughes, a permanent change in the organization.

Thank you all for your support, collaboration, and commitment to our campus. I will keep you informed as the PDC leadership search progresses.

Hook ’em!
