About the SLICE Awards & Nomination Criteria...

What's a SLICE?

Since 2004, the SLICE award has been a way to celebrate the people who make University Operations great. The honor is awarded annually to select employees who exemplify University Operations values of Service, Leadership, Innovation, Creativity and Excellence.

What do SLICE winners receive?

Each SLICE winner will receive $1,000, two paid vacation days – and cake! Winners will be celerated at their workplace with their coworkers, where they will be presented with an actual slice of delicious cake.

Who’s eligible to submit a SLICE nomination?

Any University Operations staff member—whether an associate vice president or an entry-level employee—can nominate someone for a SLICE Award.

How are winners chosen?

Winners will be chosen by a selection committee of their peers (staff members below the associate/assistant director level). The vice president’s office selects seven people from across University Operations to serve on this committee each year, and winners are announced in December.
